Tropical Wedding Ideas: Peach Dreams and Palm Trees

July 23, 2018

We are now well into the Summer here at Glitzy Secrets and I’m writing this in the midst of a serious British heatwave – the sun is beating down on us, the skies have never been so blue, and the temperature is sweltering. It’s absolute heaven! Today we’re talking all about the lovely ways you can add a touch of tropics to your wedding day. I must admit, a tropical wedding theme with a peach colour palette and an abundance of palm trees is one of my favourite choices. It’s fun, fabulous and a gorgeous way of ensuring your special day is bursting with sunshine – no matter what the weather may be. Whether you’re having a destination wedding in paradise or you want to bring those beach vibes to your big day, find out how you can recreate this mouth-wateringly delicious theme, with our ideas for a tropical wedding!

First things first, you need to set the scene for your guests and the best way to do this is through your stationery. Opt for a gorgeous peach design that is adorned with palm tree leaves and gold foiling for a touch of luxe. We’re talking bold, statement invitations that will get your guests talking about your tropical big day style. You can really go all out with this theme so don’t fret too much about keeping things understated and simple. Tie your tropical wedding theme together by using matching stationery designs throughout your celebration, from the save the dates to the seating plan.

Add a tropical touch to your aisle style with a bouquet that is overflowing with bold and beautiful blooms. Protea, Hibiscus and Pink Orchids teamed with palm laves are the perfect pick for your bridal bouquet! Your florist will be able to advise you on blooms that are in season. We suggest choosing pretty peach gowns for your best girls. Long, flowing maxi dresses teamed with cute sandals and a foliage flower crown will look utterly divine. The groom and his groomsmen will look dashing in navy or cream linen suits teamed with peach buttonholes, ties and handkerchiefs.

A tropical wedding lends itself wonderfully to a wooden archway for your ceremony, offering an idyllic backdrop for you to say, ‘I Do’. Adorn your archway with a mixture of foliage and greenery, including an abundance of palm leaves and the prettiest peach posies. You could surround it with lanterns and candles, which will look lovely later on in the evening. You can also line the aisle with palm leaves and coordinating flowers – this will look particularly incredible if you are lucky enough to tie the knot on the beach. So dreamy!

Spoil your guests with some scrumptious cocktails, the perfect way to transport them to a tropical paradise! Pina Coladas are of course, an absolute must-have, but there are lots of other fruity options that your guests will love. Spruce up your cocktail station with flamingo straws and stylish glassware. You could also serve pineapple and. watermelon as refreshing canapés. You may also want to treat your guests to ice creams and lollies if you know the weather is going to be scorching! While we’re on the topic of food, let’s not forget about your cake! Make it stand out with a statement cake topper or decorations that can’t be ignored. From oversized palm leaves to hot pink flamingo details, your tropical wedding cake can effortlessly impress your guests.

It’s exotic, fun and undeniably fabulous. This summer is all about the tropical wedding theme and I just can’t get enough of it!
