Autumn Wedding Inspiration for Boho Brides

November 05, 2016

I don’t know about you but I LOVE autumn and, when the weather is kind, this time of year is beyond beautiful. It’s no surprise that September, October and November are becoming increasingly popular for weddings and given the gorgeousness outside, autumn is perfect for a boho wedding. So, let’s wrap up warm and indulge ourselves with the best boho autumn wedding inspiration…

Let’s start with your venue and somewhere that oozes rustic beauty needs to be top of your list. I’d always recommend that you start your search on Coco Wedding Venues where the Rustic Romance and Bohemian Beats sections are sure to get your heart racing.

From there, you should turn your attention to your colour palette and natural, earthy tones are definitely the way forward. Add in splashes of deep berry reds and touches of gold for added depth and warmth. In fact, using natural motifs throughout your day is a great idea – think leaves, berries, seasonal fruits and foliage plus woods and natural fabrics. That’s boho bliss right there!

When it comes to your bridal ensemble, unstructured gowns look amazing on boho brides. Designers such as Katya Katya Shehurina, Charlie Brear and Claire Pettibone are among my favourites – I love the layers, fabric combinations and exquisite embellishments. Follow your natural theme when it comes to accessories too – the Garland of Eden Tiara from Glitzy Secrets is a perfect wedding hair accessory and how about adding a luxurious wrap or cardigan in case of cool weather?

Autumnal wedding bouquets can be spectacular things. Again, go for a wild and unstructured design and let your bouquet run wild! Add in as many seasonal elements as you like such as leaves, berries, feathers, seed heads and when it comes to flowers, don’t forget dahlias! These autumn flowers are so pretty and with the range of colours and sizes that are available, you’ll have oodles of choice.

For your wedding tables, it’s time to embrace boho luxe. Opt for beautiful crockery, golden cutlery and twinkling cut glass with more seasonal flowers tumbling from golden containers. Use autumnal accessories such as acorns, pears, pumpkins and mini gourds to give a real flavour of harvest abundance. Wood slice charger plates are great on tables or as a cake stand and, when it comes to cakes, more is definitely more! Autumn is the best time for feasting!

Whilst we’re talking about feasting, an autumn boho wedding needs plenty of tasty food. At this time of year, hearty, warming meals make everyone smile. Plates of cured meats, amazing pies, cheese boards with figs and honey are all wonderful so just fill your menu with autumnal delicacies and let your guests enjoy themselves.

Natural decorations are always best for boho weddings. Wooden signs decorated with more flowers, floral hanging backdrops combined with macramé or dream catchers look amazing and strip things back to boho basics with a table plan made from a beautiful old frame that’s filled with chicken wire and decorated with more foliage.

Boho luxe is all about looking after your guests too so make sure you’ve got a few treats in store. I love a good cocktail more than is probably good for me so the thought of setting up a cocktail trolley and letting guests help themselves is just brilliant. Also, provide a big basket full of blankets so when it’s time to head outside and sit by the fire or dance under the stars, everyone is warm, happy and content to linger for as long as possible.
