There are three reasons why we wanted to bring you Ashlee and David’s beautiful wedding: Firstly featuring an Australian wedding in our Real Wedding features is a first for us! Secondly we are thrilled to bring you a real bride wearing our stunning Vintage Wreath Tiara. Many of you will be aware that our flagship piece was worn by Lady Mary in the award winning series of Downton Abbey and, we are sure you will agree, that Ashlee looks just as stunning wearing the tiara in a more contemporary style than that chosen for the period drama. Lastly we just couldn’t resist featuring a wedding with such a gorgeous couple!
Ashlee and David’s wedding was beautifully captured by the talented Elizabeth James of Milque Photography. Elizabeth explains that her inspiration for this beautiful wedding was the location of Maleny which, she says “never fails to create stunning backdrops for hinterland weddings”. She also loved the elegance and beauty of Ashlee’s styling for her special day.
When Milque Photography are not photographing a wedding or family portraits, the talented Brisbane & Sydney Wedding Photographers are shooting for advertising agencies and fashion labels across Australia. “They hone their craft in studios and on location and bring that unique photographic style to all photoshoots”. “Our extensive experience behind the camera means you can be a novice in front of it” which is always a reassuring factor for a nervous bride and groom.
They take pride in the fact that they “know how to make every bride and groom feel their most confident and their families feel comfortable and relaxed”. Milque Photography also ensure that once photos are received by their experienced office crew, hours are spent retouching them to ensure “the couple’s natural beauty shines through in every single image”.
Ashlee and David’s story is a true childhood romance with them meeting at the school fete when they were in 10th grade at High School. After the proposal they only took an impressive 7 months to arrange their special day. They instantly fell in love with their wedding venue - Tiffany's, which is located in the majestic surrounds of Maleny, Queensland with stunning views across the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Ashlee explains that they “couldn’t find anywhere more picturesque and the staff were so professional and helpful”. She really wanted to be surrounded by greenery for their wedding and Tiffany’s was just picture-perfect.
Ashlee’s breathtaking dress was from the Watters Bridal collection at Belladonna Bridal Woolloongabba and her gorgeous bridesmaids looked elegant in flowing Forever New maxi dresses. We love the unique way that Ashlee chose to wear our Vintage Wreath Tiara which set off her high bun to perfection.
Everything about Ashlee and David’s day was memorable and the images certainly show the love and happiness surrounding the day but, although it was hard to choose just one special moment, for Ashlee it had to be her new husband’s speech at the reception. She sums it up by saying it “was truly amazing”.
