Stunning & Stylish Berry Wedding Inspiration

October 02, 2016

If you are looking for a stylish and sophisticated wedding colour palette then a deep berry hue can work beautifully no matter the season. Mix deep berry tones with lush lighter pinks and greens for a spring or summer wedding day. Or if your wedding is in the autumn or winter months, deep forest green or rusty brown shades will give a deeper tone to your day.

Give your guests a hint to your berry themed day by choosing wedding invitations in a dark burgundy tone – it will give your guests in indicator of your colour scheme and all that is to come.

You can really experiment with lots of beautiful flowers for your berry themed wedding – deep purple calla lilies and dark red roses will give a mix of dark reds and purples that will look stunning and appear really striking mixed into a bridal bouquet and photographed against a crisp white wedding dress.

If you have bridesmaids of varying hair colours and skin tones you will also find that berry hues are flattering for almost every skin tone and the darker shade means it’s a guaranteed crowd pleaser. Pick one uniform shade or if you want to mix it up a little then choose different berry tones with purple and red bases to give your bridesmaids a mismatched look.

For brides that are happy to go bold, dark berry shades on your lips will look amazing and can be a dramatic makeup look that your guests won’t be expecting. If that feels a little too bold for the day, why not have a deeper shade of lipstick for your evening reception? Or paint your nails a dark shade of aubergine instead of a traditional French manicure.

Berry shades aren’t just for the bride and bridesmaids – the groom, his best men and ushers can all embrace the berry trend by matching their ties and handkerchiefs to the dark shade of the bridesmaid dresses.

Your wedding reception décor can also take a dramatic berry twist with deep red napkins, berry coloured flowers in your table centrepieces and even include delicious berries in the dessert at your wedding breakfast.

And of course you can have so much fun with your wedding cake – winter weddings can embrace deep and dark icing, while summer weddings may be better suiting to naked cakes covered in delicious summer fruits like blueberries, blackberries and raspberries.

If you are planning a berry coloured wedding then take a look at our top tips:
