Pink & Blue Wedding Ideas Inspired by Pantone

February 17, 2016

Every year, authority on colour Pantone picks a shade that it predicts will be huge. Although sometimes these colours can be a little tricky to work into a wedding theme (we’re looking at you, Marsala from 2015), this year’s chosen shades are ideal for a beautiful spring wedding. For the first time ever, Pantone has chosen two colours: Rose Quartz, a soft pink, and Serenity, a pale blue. These pretty pastel colours work perfectly together for a theme – here’s how to create your pink and blue wedding…

Bridal outfit

Blush wedding dresses are still seriously on trend, so why not get married in a Rose Quartz gown? Soft shades of pink will look gorgeous on all skin tones, and can be as bright or as subtle as you like. For a cool new take on the coloured dress, take a leaf out of Cinderella’s book and wear a pale blue gown. If your heart is set on a white dress, you can always add a sweet pink veil or a blue petticoat as a nod to colour.

Jewellery

For both the bride and bridesmaids, pink and blue jewellery are easy to work into your wedding. If you’re on the lookout for your ‘something blue’, the new Glitzy Secrets Shimmering Sky Pendant is a delicate and beautiful way to wear Serenity-inspired jewellery. For your bridesmaids, the Misty Rose Headband and Paradise Pink Pins are ideal for adding a subtle touch of pale pink sparkle.

Bridesmaids

Pale pink and baby blue are bridesmaid staples, so mixing them together for a Pantone-inspired wedding theme will look stylish and chic. If you’re wearing a blush wedding dress, you could have your maid of honour or flower girls in Rose Quartz dresses to match you, while the rest of the maids wear pale blue.

Flowers

If you don’t want to wear Rose Quartz and Serenity, you could always carry them instead! Pink and blue flowers look amazing together; you could mix them throughout your bouquets, or have your bridesmaids carry one shade while you carry the other. Pale pink flowers include roses, peonies and lilies, and baby blue flowers include hydrangea, hyacinths and nigella.

Sweet Table

Your dessert table is the best place to add some cute blue touches to your wedding breakfast – you’ll probably want to keep it away from the savoury food! Create a chic mix of pink and blue sweets such as bubblegum balls, strawberry bonbons, marshmallows, cake pops and macaroons, and display them all in coloured glass dishes. Wash down with strawberry milkshake with blue striped straws!
