If you’re considering a destination wedding day, why not head to the sizzling shores of Greece? With an abundance of show-stopping venues and guaranteed sunshine, you really will be spoilt for your celebrations. Greece is also home to the goddess of love, Aphrodite – could it get any more romantic than that? We’ve previously written a post about the pros and cons of a wedding abroad so feel free to have a nose! With a destination wedding, such as Greece, comes scorching weather so don’t forget to take those warmer climates into account when wedding planning.

Do you love the style of Sophie’s wedding dress? Sophie wore a light-weight bohemian style of gown that was relaxed yet still utterly romantic. There are lots of wedding dresses out there that are perfect for a relaxed, laid back and whimsical vibe. Opt for a boho-inspired hairstyle too such as loose, flowing waves, bridal braids and even a dainty flower crown. Glitzy Secrets have a number of beautiful hair vines that will help to create that ‘Grecian Goddess’ vibe on your big day. A pair of sparkly sandals will work beautifully for a Mamma Mia inspired wedding, as you’ll notice that Sophie went barefoot on her big day! A cream linen suit teamed with a crisp white shirt will help to keep your groom cool throughout your day, as well as looking handsome!
The Mamma Mia soundtrack is an absolute must-have throughout your wedding day, whether it’s played for the first dance or throughout the evening. Why not have some fun with your wedding tables by naming each table after your favourite Mamma Mia songs? You could even add a picture of each scene from the film.
There are lots of subtle ways of adding a touch of ‘Mamma Mia’ to your wedding day. You could use Greek postcards as an alternative wedding guest book. Simply ask your guests to write a message or piece of marriage advice on a postcard for you to read on your honeymoon. Lots of hanging lanterns and candles dotted around your wedding venue will help create a romantic glow as the evening draws in and they’re used throughout the movie.
